You understand much more than you can say.
You studied the language at school or at university. You can read, you can write an email, you can follow a film with subtitles. But when you have to speak, you freeze — you look for the right word, the right tense, and by the time you find them, the moment is gone.
What I teach
Adults who already have a base. You know the rules, you understand what you hear — you just stop when it is your turn to talk. You do not need to start from the beginning. You need to start talking.
You talk. Most of the time, you are the one speaking, not me. We do grammar only when it gets in your way: if a tense stops you from saying what you mean, we fix that tense and go back to talking.
Dóra came to me to get ready for job interviews. After the second one:
“I had a second interview on Friday, and… I GOT THE JOB! We are going to Portugal. Huge thank you for your support!”

The method
When you translate, you are always one step behind. You think in Hungarian, you translate, then you speak. That pause is what makes you nervous.
So we skip it. From the first minute you listen, you guess, and you answer in English. If you do not know a word, you ask in English too, and I explain it in a way you can follow.
It feels strange for two or three lessons. Then it stops feeling strange, and you start speaking.
This works from zero as well — with gestures, images, examples and context, the same way you learned your first language.
How I work
Interviews, documentaries, series, articles, news. A coursebook shows up rarely, and only when it solves a real problem.
I do not measure progress in levels. I measure it by what you can do: the job interview, the meeting, the client call, the conversation you keep avoiding.
Most of my students have demanding jobs — IT specialists, psychologists, HR managers, business owners. I know how hard it is to learn a language when your week is already full. I am patient, and we go at your speed.
Practical
We talk about what you need, and you decide whether I am the right teacher for you. Online, or in person in Budapest.
